Abstract

Free space optics (FSO) as an optical wireless communication gained great attention to manage the disaster problem by providing license-free highly secure transmission with low-cost deployment and high bandwidth. Besides all these, atmospheric turbulence-induced fading can become a major challenge for FSO systems as it affects their performance. This paper proposed a novel design for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) FSO and hybrid wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) with multiple beams FSO systems by considering the rain, fog, dry snow, scintillation loss, geometric loss, and Rytov variance over Gamma-Gamma distribution. The results are offered in the form of Bit Error Rate (BER), Quality Factor (QF), and Eye Diagrams.
