Abstract

This work proposes and designs a pentagonal-shaped monopole antenna for wireless applications. Circular slot and meander lines are shown to be used in the design to expand the operating bands. By loading parasitic components, impedance matching can be achieved. The parametric analysis is carried out by changing the slot radius and patch width. This method inherently aids in the reduction of electrical length and, as a result, miniaturization. The proposed antenna has a maximum gain of 3.94 dB and operates between 2.3 GHz and 11.3 GHz.
