Abstract

To design and analyze rectangular patch frequency reconfiguration antenna using a varactor diode for low frequency (L band) applications. Rectangular slots are used to increase the size of the patch antenna and improve its characteristics. Materials and Methods: Total sample size is 32, each group consists of 16 samples. In the group 1 the reflection coefficient is calculated by using FR-4 substrate and in the group 2 the reflection coefficient is calculated using RT-DURDID substrate for varying capacitance from C=0.94pF to C=4. 15pF.Results: The lowest and highest reflection coefficients in FR-4 were -10.9429dB and -15.2997dB respectively. The lowest and highest reflection coefficients in RT-DURDID are -5.1792dB and -22.4044 respectively. Conclusion: Within the limits of the study, the antenna designed using FR-4 substrate gives better reflection coefficient and frequency shifting than RT-DURDID.
