Abstract

Abstract This paper presents design of ring–shaped wide-band band pass filter with notched band. The ring –shaped UWB BPF using a simplified composite right/left handed (SCRLH) resonator. The narrow band notch responses produced by DMS (Defected trip Micros Structure) was introduced at a frequency of 5.2 GHz in order to reject any undesired signals which may interfere with the wideband communication systems. This band pass filter is designed to pass the UWB signals between 2.9 GHz to 10.2GHz and to eliminate WLAN signal (5.2 GHz). The resulting filter has been found to possess a compact size of 20mm×30mm. This design is simulated by CST microwave software based on the Finite Integration Technique (FIT).
