Abstract

To solve the problem caused by the heavily axial gravity load of the rotor and main shaft of the hydraulic generators, a superconducting induction magnetic levitation device is proposed for hydraulic generator system. AC superconducting windings are implemented to increase the levitation force. The basic structure and principle are introduced. According to the calculated magnetic field distribution, the AC loss power of the superconducting winding is estimated. In addition, the levitation force and torque are obtained and analyzed under different condition.
