Abstract
AbstractIn this article, a novel microstrip rectangular patch antenna is designed which involves dual trapezoidal slots. The proposed microstrip patch antenna is used in the S band range of 2–4 GHz, used for various wireless applications. The resonant frequency is calculated theoretically at 3.5 GHz with patch dimensions being 25.4 mm × 19.4 mm in terms of width × length (in mm). Using the theoretical parameters, the proposed patch antenna is designed using HFSS software. The results are also compared to the conventional regular patch antenna. The results show that the proposed patch antenna with dual trapezoidal slot has better return loss and VSWR and can be used for WiMax application services. The observations and findings are tabulated.
