Abstract

Microtrip Antenna has several advantages such as small and light but they also have some weakness, such as low gain and narrow bandwidth. Low gain can be overcome by making an array configuration. The paper proposes a high gain of900 MHz array of micros trip using PCB Epoxy (FR4) double layer with a thickness of 1.3 mm and a dielectric constant of 4.7. The array microstrip antenna has been targeted to use in lab work for student practice. The shape of the patch made is a rectangle, a triangle, and a circle. The parameter measured are the resonant frequency, VSWR and radiation pattern which it will be compared to IE3D microstrip simulation. The results show that for rectangular microstrip array antennas the resonant frequency = 930MHz, VSWR = 1.03, HPBW = 88°. The result of circular array microstrip antenna: resonant frequency = 915MHz, VSWR = 1.05, HPBW = 105° and for the triangular array microstrip antennas: resonant frequency = 925MHz, VSWR = 1,2, HPBW = 93°.
