Abstract
The main propose of this paper is extracting the maximum power from low speed wind turbine. The power generated is directly proportionate to the wind speed obtainable. The maximum power can be obtained by tracking the optimal rotor speed. There are two main types of wind turbine, first one is horizontal axis and second one is vertical axis wind turbine reliant on the positioning of the turbine rotor and its generator. The primary objective of this research was to design and modelling of a small-scale integrated VAWT. Design the combination of Darrius and savonius type VAWT i.e. integrated VAWT. A graphical user interface is generated for a generic model of integrated vertical axis wind turbine that is used to determine its parameters. The aims were to analyze the turbine blade shapes, develop to establish the techno economic performance of the new hybrid VAWT shape design.
