ABSTRACTThe photosynthesis of Gracilaria tikvahiae McLachlan, normally a subtidal plant, returned to initial levels within a day following single desiccations to 50% and repeated desiccations to at least 15%. In contrast, growth rates were decreased by even very mild desiccation.
