Abstract
Acute groin pain in football is a common cause of game loss. Several injuries could determine this painful condition and muscular involvement should always be considered. External rotator muscle group acute injuries are frequent in football players, especially for external and internal obturators. In this case, we report a case of an acute piriformis injury in a professional football player.
