Descriptive information, statistics and little known facts derived from a database of US civic hacking groups

Abstract

Little descriptive information is available regarding the work of civic hackers in the US. Creating a database of civic hacker groups helps fill this gap in our knowledge. Information derived from civic hacker groups' websites and civic hackers themselves is compiled in a single database. Collectively, this information provides a valuable description of civic hacker organizations for statistical analysis and inferences. This poster presentation will provide a summary of our knowledge about civic hacker groups derived from the database analysis.
