Abstract
Of the two specimens of the little grebe,Podiceps ruficollisVroeg shot in the environs of district Pilibhit, U.P., one harboured two mature specimens of the genusSchistotaeniaCohn, 1900 and a large number of specimens of the genusTatriaKowalewski, 1904. Study of these specimens has shown that the former is a new species. So far as the author is aware, this is the first record of amabilid cestodes from India.
