Abstract

This research aims to define the term descriptions of the Quranic verses, including its origin, the distinctions between names and descriptions, the emergence of limited and comprehensive descriptions of the Quranic verses, and the attribution of these descriptions to individuals, whether it be the Prophet (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him), the Companions, or those who came after them. The study also seeks to explore scholars' perspectives on these descriptions, if any, and to highlight the meaning of limited and comprehensive descriptions of the verses, along with the extent of their relevance. The descriptive approach, based on induction and analysis, was employed. The most significant findings include eleven limited descriptions and four comprehensive descriptions of the Quranic verses.
