Abstract

The genus Blepharoneura currently contains 52 described species distributed throughout the Americas. Currently, 16 species are recorded from Mexico, of which 13 belong to the femoralis group. In this study we describe six new species of the femoralis group from several localities in Mexico: B. martyae, n. sp.; B. alleni, n. sp.; B. zapoteca n. sp.; B. xalapensis, n. sp.; B. isabelae, n. sp.; and B. dzuli, n. sp. A key for the identification of all species of the femoralis group is also provided, based on modifications of the key originally published by Norrbom and Condon (2010) to include the new species described here.
