Abstract

A simple technique based on the product operator formalism, which provides a complete and rigorous quantum-mechanical description of modern pulse nuclear magnetic resonance experiments is proposed. Calculation schemes for unambiguous assignment of chemical shifts in nuclear magnetic resonance spectra for two- and three-spin systems and for measuring spectral parameters needed for the structural analysis of molecules are presented.
