Abstract

An increase in harmonic currents in the low voltage networks is progressively observed, which is mainly caused due to increase in energy-efficient modern power electronic equipment. The current harmonics, injected by this power electronic equipment, tend to change the voltage waveform of the distribution network. The current harmonic emission of these loads is also susceptible to the input voltage waveform. Any amplitude and phase angle variation of the voltage harmonics, either combine or exclusively, has a visible impact on amplitude and phase angles of load's current harmonic emission. This paper presents the influence of amplitude and phase varying voltage harmonic, on amplitude and phase angle of current harmonics.
