Abstract

Interdigital transducers can be represented as a linear array of elements that emit and reflect surface waves. This phenomenological description enables one to calculate the properties of these transducers accurately, provided that weak reflections between short-circuited finger pairs are taken into account. The theory is simple and is expressed in terms of known parameters.
