Abstract

The rapid growth of California and the southwest has brought many problems to the area, including the development of marginal and fringe areas next to existing communities. Municipal and private water agencies are considering various processes for tying these areas into their existing water systems and serving them with adequate water pressure. This article discusses the advantages/disadvantages of the tankless water system, or continuous pumping system, as a type of system that will supplement or supplant the conventional pumping plant and its required storage.
