Abstract
This paper discusses questions of the description of the distortion of multimode laser beams and introduces laser-radiation-distortion functions. An expression is presented for calculating the amplitude-phase field distribution at the output of an actual laser optical system, and an analytic expression is obtained for its approximate calculation and analysis. This expression is useful at the initial stages of synthesizing laser optical systems with small distortions.
