Abstract

The relationship between the right to care and urban development in the context of the Political Constitution of Mexico City is an issue that has not yet been addressed in the academic field, in part because it is a recent, multidimensional issue that does not allow its evaluation in depth, but in an exploratory way. In this work, the objective focuses on the importance of care in urban development in general, without trying to delve into all the components of the latter, but reference is made to daily mobility in the city to make women and men visible. the problems they face in carrying out care activities. We start from the premise that Mexico City is a territory that presents various forms of exclusion and that planning and urban development are essential in the design of infrastructure, services and public equipment so that women and men can carry out daily activities in conditions of substantive equality and respect for their rights, including care, a right that was incorporated into the Political Constitution of Mexico City that was decreed in February 2017.
