Abstract

The World Commission on Culture and Development (DCMC) in 1997 published a report entitled Our Creative Diversity, which sets culture in the foreground as a key factor for sustainable made since our attitudes and lifestyles are decisive arranging and managing our resources. The concept is embedded in Latin American, African culture and of course in Europe, the place from which part of the ideological construction of the concept from an economic reductionism. The aim of this paper is to analyze the concept development maintained by the residents of Barrio Realejo in the city of Granada and show how, from that logic, no leverage their resources; economic, human, institutional to promote “another development” that can improve their quality of life.
