Abstract

A 26-year-old woman presents in clinic concerned about the growing number of moles she has. She lived for 5 years in South Africa and enjoys sunbathing even though she used to burn as a child and was upset that more moles always appeared after her holidays. There is no family history of skin cancer but her mum has a lot of larger moles and has had some skin lesions burned off with liquid nitrogen. The young woman was asked to undress down to her underwear so that the pigmented colour and size of the lesions could be compared.
