Abstract

Abstract.—We report ten cases of perianal streptococcal dermatitis in six boys and four girls. The clinical picture included perianal erythema, oozing and rectal bleeding, with anal pruritus and pain on defecation as the most frequent symptoms. In a boy, it was accompanied of guttate psoriasis. The bacteriology showed group A beta-hemolitic streptococci in all cases and all of them responded well to general and/or local antibiotic treatment. The differential diagnosis with other processes of the same area is not difficult if suspected.
