Abstract
Sternal infections have high mortality and cost burden in cardiac surgery. Skin closure is critical in preventing sternal infections. Dermabond Prineo is a skin closure system combining mesh and 2-octyl cyanoacrylate liquid adhesive. There are no current studies reporting outcomes in cardiac surgery. This paper presents an Australasian unit’s experience of Dermabond Prineo and reports the incidence of sternal wound infection.
