Abstract

In modelling the adsorption of ions by charged surfaces, four distinct situations are of potential interest. They are: 1) equilibrium adsorption with the equilibrium concentration of adsorbate specified; 2) equilibrium adsorption with the initial concentration of adsorbate and adsorbant specified; 3) rate of adsorption with the concentration of adsorbate held constant; 4) rate of adsorption with the initial concentration of adsorbate and adsorbant specified.
