Abstract
AbstractThe synthesis of alkyl chain substituted thiazole and oxazole derivatives is described. The reaction of 11‐bromo‐10‐oxoundecanoic acid with thiourea and acetamide yielded terminally located thiazole and oxazole derivatives, respectively. A similar treatment with urea produced the unexpected urea‐substituted product, together with an unidentified product.
