Abstract

A projection-level set method is applied for modeling the Rayleigh–Taylor instability problem. Two configurations for the initial conditions of interface are considered. On the basis of the energy gradient theory a field variable function is derived from the velocity field that can be addressed as a local criterion for finding the high potential regions from the view point of instabilities growth.
