Abstract

Technological change and industry deregulation have promoted the development of cooperative labor relations arrangements in U.S. telecommunications. With the entry of non-union competitors and the continuous adoption of labor-saving technology in the industry, union membership and AT&T’s market share have been jeopardized, compelling labor and management to resolve their divergent interests and address their mutual concerns.
