Abstract

Within the European context, Britain's pattern of “Privatization” look toward an Atlantic dhnce, while France's reliance on state enterprise and the 1936 merger of the telecommunication assets of tbe U.S. firm ITT with those of Alcatel, a subsidiary of the French-based consortium CGE, promise to provide a strong European contender in the international telecommunication market.
