Abstract

As already suggested by the author, the solar wind proves to be the main, if not the only source for the large amounts of the so-called primordial gases, which are found in various meteorites especially in the bronzite-chondrites. The presence of the primordial gases in all main mineral components of the meteorites, including the metal phase, and their high concentration in the surface layers of the individual meteoritic grains, indicate a source in form of corpuscular radiation. The measured element ratios of the true original meteoritic primordial gases—especially the He/Ne ratio of 750—prove their correlation to the sun; the solar wind therefore remains the only possible source. The rather high concentration of 3He in the primordial gases—4He/3He=2200—and therefore also in the solar wind, seems of principal importance for the conditions in the solar atmosphere.
