Abstract

For their clinical competence in the treatment of difficult patients, today's Individual Psychologists increasingly draw on the theories of modern psychoanalysis. There has been hardly any discussion in today´s Individual Psychology about the fact that Adler was actively involved in the psychoanalytic community for nine years. He then made a radical break with psychoanalysis and changed his texts from that period. Using the records of the Viennese Psychoanalytic Association and the new edition of Adler's early works, we can discover Alfred Adler, the psychoanalyst.
