Abstract

This article provides an overview of the theoretical foundations of German as a pluricentric language and its current use in German as a foreign language (DaF) instruction4. The article also examines the results of the author's master's thesis at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) in 2017 on the implementation of pluricentricity in DaF instruction. Furthermore, the article discusses the potential applications of pluricentricity in German language instruction and its benefits. Overall, the article highlights the importance of incorporating pluricentricity into German language instruction and offers insights into how to effectively implement this approach.
