Abstract

Angelika Rubner, psychoanalyst and certified TCI-instructor at the Ruth Cohn Institute-international, elaborates on how Theme-Centered Interaction (TCI) is rooted in psychoanalysis (PA). At the heart of her article there are twelve essential elements of PA to which the author attributes an influence on the theory and practice of TCI. Mention is also made of Sigmund Freud’s and Ruth Cohn’s rootedness in Jewish tradition. According to the author, this Jewish heritage is reflected in the thinking of both of these personalities, in two ways, and has also significantly influenced the form and content of TCI.
