Abstract

This paper proposed a new method based on improved Gaussian Blur algorithm to simulate the depth of field effect. By studying lens imaging and the formation principle of depth of field (DOF), we present a method to solve the key problems and improve image quality of DOF simulation. By comparing the depth of pixels during sampling, the method solves the intensity leakage problem in the process of blurring. In terms of image quality, our method offers improved circular sampling and multi-level Gaussian blur to improve it. We also verified this method in Augmented Reality (AR) experiment. The result shows the proposed algorithm can really solve the intensity leakage problem and improve quality of DOF rendering.
