Abstract

As chronic kidney failure increases, patients undergoing hemodialysis experience disturbance of sleep quality and anxiety. Patients who have been diagnosed with GGK are required to undertake medical intervention only to undergo hemodialysis therapy or known as bloodwashing therapy. Nevertheless, hemodialysis also poses a number of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual problems that will affect the quality of life of the patient. Stress, and depression are the most common psychological disorders in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The aim of this research is to find out the relationship between depression and quality of life in patients with hemodialysis at RSUD Dr. Soekardjo City of Tasikmalaya. Research Methods. The research method in this study is to include the type of descriptive research with univariate analysis and bivariate with cross sectional, the population is patients undergoing hemodialysis with a total sampling of 87 respondents. As a result of the study, there was a significant relationship between depression and the standard of quality of life of GGK patients undergoing hemodialysis obtained a p value of 0.012 (p < 0.05).
