Abstract

When matched on age, sex, and cardiac rehabilitation (CR) adherence, the proportion of patients with SCAD reporting elevated anxiety is double that of their non-SCAD counterparts, but comparable depression scores were noted. CR was successful in reducing depression, but not anxiety, in both groups. Tailored anxiety-based interventions may be needed to improve CR benefits and patient recovery.
