Abstract

Alzheimer’s disease or Alzheimer-type dementia is a heterogeneous disorder which must be divided into at least an early onset form, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and a late onset form, senile dementia of the Alzheimer type (SDAT). AD seems to be a more cortical disorder, while SDAT also includes damage to white matter tissue (Svennerholm and Gottfries, 1994). This is of importance when discussing noncognitive disorders in AD/SDAT.KeywordsMajor Depressive DisorderVascular DementiaLate Onset FormEarly Onset FormDementia DisorderThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
