Abstract

The cuboid is an important bone of the foot. Isolated fractures of the cuboid are unusual. Often when the cuboid is injured there are other associated tarsal injuries, either fractures or dislocations. We present a case of an isolated depressed cuboid fracture caused by relatively minor trauma in a healthy woman, and describe a novel method of treatment. We emphasize that a high degree of awareness must be employed if these fractures are not to be missed.
