Abstract

The reduction of the zinc ion at the mercury jet electrode has been studied in KCl and KNO 3 solution, with regard to the influence of temperature and of the concentration of supporting electrolyte. It is concluded that the mechanism of the reduction varies according to the concentration of KCl. The results obtained with KNO 3 are similar to those obtained with dilute KCl. The processes become more and more reversible as the temperature is raised.
