Abstract

The optimal conditions of electrochemical preparation at 25°C of selenium on platinum or selenium cathodes from selenium dioxyde solutions have been investigated; a parallel study of tellurium deposits on platinum cathodes has been done. At 95°C deposits of grey selenium have been prepared from concentrated selenium dioxyde solutions in sulfuric acid. The texture of deposits thus obtained has been studied using X rays diffraction, electron diffraction and electron scanning microscopy. An attempt to interprete the crystalline orientation of deposits and experimental conditions of their obtention is suggested through semi-conducting properties of those elements.
