It reviews the literature that has discussed the issues of electronic information within depository libraries. It also presents the result of a survey conducted of ARL institutions to assess the degree of support provided for such access; to discover the level of innovation occurring at those libraries; and to examine the perceptions of depository librarians and library directors concerning the broad issues involved in providing this type of government information.
