Abstract

Supercontinuum (SC) generation, particularly in bulk, represents a simple and efficient means of generating coherent and broadband radiation covering various parts of the optical spectrum. It enables many practical applications in numerous fields of contemporary optics because of its usefulness as a tunable ultrafast light source. Among others, these include time-resolved broadband absorption and excitation spectroscopy or optical pulse compression. A direct way of utilizing SC in design of coherent sources is its implementation as a seed source for broadband OPA [1] or OPCPA [2, 3] systems.
