Abstract

An experimental investigation was made of the dependence of the spectrum and average radiation power of a Q-switched CO laser on the period and effective angular velocity of rotation of the switch mirror. It was found that the main reason for narrowing of the spectrum at high rotational speeds was a decrease in the Q-switching time compared with the lasing-pulse rise time.
