Abstract

The mechanism of formation of doubly charged ions upon nonlinear ionization of Ba atoms as a result of the simultaneous action of yttrium-aluminum garnet laser radiation and its second harmonic is investigated. It is shown that this mechanism is two-electron. The experimental data are compared with the results of the calculation carried out for Gaussian laser beams.
