Abstract

We numerically demonstrate the role of helicity of ellipse field singularities on spin angular momentum density. We consider both bright and dark ellipse field singularities to demonstrate this effect. It is found that as the helicity of C-point inverted, the spin angular momentum density undergoes 180° rotation. In case of bright C-point the z-component of the spin angular momentum density has always a central maxima irrespective of value of polarization singularity index, whereas for dark C-points there is always a central minima in the z-component of the spin angular momentum density. The number of minima around the central dark point in the longitudinal component for dark C-point singularity with C-point index (IC) is given by (|2IC−2|).
