Abstract
The intensity of benzophenone-sensitized phosphorescent emission of biacetyl in solution was found to be dependent on the exciting-light intensity. The efficiency of emission decreases as the exciting-light intensity increases. The decrease in emission efficiency is attributed to the triplet—triplet annihilation of biacetyl.
