Abstract

The article highlights the period of activity of Associate Professor of the Department of General Chemistry VP Denisenko from 1951 to 1974, which achieved significant scientific results in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry. Purpose of the study. To reveal the significance of its activity in the field of purposeful organic synthesis of biologically active substances. The research methodology is based on the use of historical method and contextual analysis. Scientific novelty consists in the fact that for the first time the scientific activity of V. Denisenko was studied. Conclusions. Within a short period of time, it synthesized more than 50 potentially pharmacological substances, the greatest use among which was the compound, which later became a pharmaceutical practice called "Ethonium."
