Abstract

Three studies by Danielson etal. (2017), GoodSmith etal. (2017), and Sensai and Buzsáki (2017) distinguish invivo firing properties of dentate mossy cells from granule cells during behavior. Robust spatial remapping of mossy cells, in contrast to sparse firing of granule cells, suggests differential involvement in pattern separation.
