Abstract

The PRICE 2020, PRIRATE 2020, PRIASE 2021, and PRILE 2021 guidelines were developed based on the Guidance for Developers of Health Research Reporting Guidelines.6 In brief, the PRIDE project leaders (VN and PD) created a steering committee with various experts for each set of guidelines. Preliminary draft checklists and flowcharts for manuscript preparation of case reports, randomized trials, and animal and laboratory studies were developed by the steering committee using combinations and modifications of existing guidelines (e.g., CARE and CONSORT) and adding several other important items related to each study design. A Delphi panel of about 30 members and a meeting group of about 20 members were formed by each steering committee. A consensus on the items in each checklist and flowchart was reached by the Delphi panel members. The checklists and flowcharts resulting from each Delphi panel were then discussed and approved in the meetings. The steering committee revised the guidelines (checklists and flowcharts) based on the feedback from meetings before they were piloted by volunteers who wrote hypothetical manuscripts on studies in Endodontology using the PRICE 2020, PRIRATE 2020, PRIASE 2021, or PRILE 2021 guidelines. The checklist and flowchart template related to each guideline are freely downloaded from the PRIDE website (http://pride-endodonticguidelines.org) within the relevant PRIDE statements. For more information about the PRIDE project, please see the Wiley Online Library site for the International Endodontic Journal (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/13652591/homepage/pride-guidelines.htm) and PRIDE website (http://pride-endodonticguidelines.org). The Editorial Board of Dental Traumatology has recently agreed to endorse and adopt the PRICE 2020, PRIRATE 2020, PRIASE 2021, and PRILE 2021 guidelines in order to improve the quality, transparency, and completeness of manuscripts submitted to the journal. From now on, authors planning to submit a manuscript to Dental Traumatology must adhere to the relevant PRICE 2020, PRIRATE 2020, PRIASE 2021, or PRILE 2021 guidelines. Recently, the “Author Guidelines” section (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/16009657/homepage/forauthors.html) of Dental Traumatology has been revised to align with these new reporting guidelines for various study designs. Dental Traumatology looks forward to receiving high-quality manuscripts.
