Abstract

Human dental morphology analysis began with straightforward odontographies, or descriptions of dental traits, within various geographical populations in the 1920s. With the development of standardized methods of data collection and adoption of the Arizona State University Dental Anthropology System (ASUDAS), dental morphology has become a key tool of biological anthropologists and bioarchaeologists for reconstructing relationships and movements of both living and past populations.
